Winter detox soup with sweet potato and green lentil

And if this is not the season of the soup. The middle of January, it’s cold, most of us have given a New
Year’s resolution to lose weight and eat healthier … What’s healthier for lunch than the body and soul
warming soup and today I offer you a quick detox recipe for green lentil and sweet potato detox soup. The
spices I use give some Moroccan taste, and the spicy freshness of chili pepper and ginger strengthens
immunity and really warm up in this piercing cold wind.
And so- a quick recipe for winter green lentil and sweet potato detox soup:

 

WHAT DO WE NEED:

1 piece medium sized sweet potato
200 g green lentil
2 carrots
1 onion
5 cloves of garlic
1/4 small head of celery
half a liter of home-made vegetable stock
1 tablespoon red pepper powder
2 tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
a pinch of saffron
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
salt to taste
the juice of a lemon
1 tablespoon olive oil
small handful fresh chopped coriander
1 chili pepper (or as much as you prefer)

How to prepare soup with sweet potato and green lentil:

1. Cut the onions and celery finely and stew them in a little olive oil in a saucepan;
2. Clean the sweet potato and carrots and cut them into cubes. Add them to the onion, pour the vegetable
stock and leave them to stew on a moderate fire for 15 minutes;
3. Clean and wash the lentil and add it to the rest of the soup along with the peeled garlic cloves.
4. Add all spices without the coriander. Leave for another 20 minutes on the hob.
5. Remove from the hob and season with chopped pepper, coriander leaves and the lemon juice;
